The European Union will be able to resume macro-financial assistance to our country after the parliamentary elections in February 2019. That is because the Chisinau authorities have fulfilled all the necessary conditions for this purpose. The statement was made by Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration, Iurie Leanca, at Publika TV's "In the Spotlight" program.
"This is obvious, because we have fulfilled all the technical conditions. Now we have to make these elections, and the preparations for the elections, right, so that no one doubts the legality of these elections. the fact that we need to have a pro-European parliamentary majority. This, in my opinion, means a pro-Moldovan majority", said Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration, Iurie Leanca.
Within the program, Iurie Leanca also made the totals of the joint meeting of the Chisinau and Bucharest Governments. According to him, one of the most important objectives of our country's authorities is energy security.
"It is not known whether Russia will transit natural gas through Ukraine and Moldova after 1 January 2020. It is very important for us to do so by the end of next year we have the possibility to buy natural gas from both Russia and Romania, not to be captives of geopolitical games", said Iurie Leanca, Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration.
In turn, political analyst Vitalie Andrievschi, also present in the Publika TV studio, mentioned the progress of the last period of relations between Chisinau and Bucharest.
"We become not only trading partners, but also political partners, without approaches such as" big brother "or" younger brother ", without one being considered above each other. We have found a common political line in the EU, this Romania is supporting us", said Vitalie Andrievschi, political analyst.
Romania and the European Union will invest 152 million euros to develop the natural gas transmission system in the northeast of the neighboring country. The financing contract was signed on 22 November, in the context of the joint meeting of the governments of Romania and the Republic of Moldova. Thanks to the project, our country will be able to ensure the full consumption of natural gas through the Ungheni-Chisinau pipeline to be built.
