Moldovan-Belgian-Romanian co-operation at local level was discussed at Brussels. A school from Ialoveni will receive 30 bikes
Strengthening the contacts between the mayoralties of the Republic of Moldova and those in the European states such as the Kingdom of Belgium and Romania is an important step in the regional development of the localities in our country.
The declaration was made yesterday, 26 November, in Brussels by the Ambassador of the Republic of Moldova to the Kingdom of Belgium, Lilian Darii, at the meeting with the mayor of Ialoveni, Sergiu Armasu, Mayor of Tomesti, Iasi, Stefan Timofte, mayor of the city Belgian Eeklo, Koen Loete and President of the Meetjesland-Moldavie Association, Paul Goemaere.
Ambassador Lilian Darii said that cooperation between local authorities in different countries is beneficial not only for the exchange of good practices in the management of local administrative units, but also offers the possibility to jointly develop important socially-oriented projects that can benefit citizens of the Republic of Moldova.
In this context, representatives of the local public authorities present at the meeting reviewed a series of trilateral events supported by the Meetjesland-Moldova Association, specifying that for the moment the transfer of an ambulance (second in number) the management of the city of Ialoveni in the Republic of Moldova.
Paul Goemaere informed the mayor of Ialoveni that the Meetjesland-Moldavie Association intends to send a batch of 25-30 bikes to a school in the locality to teach pupils in addition to the objects provided by the curriculum and how to ride a bicycle.
