Octavian Armasu is 49 years old and holds the post of Minister of Finance in January 2016, after the appointment decree was signed by President Nicolae Timofti.

Armaşu came from the private sector where he worked since 1996.

For more than 12 years he has held the position of financial director of the largest sugar-producing company in our country.

He studied at the Technical University of Moldova, IT specialty and system engineer, graduating in 1994.

Later, for two years, he has been providing financial, accounting, marketing and management consulting in an USAID project.

Since 2006, he is a certified financial analyst, after completing a four-year training program at a US institute.
