Andrian Candu, Parliament Speaker, is currently holding a working visit to Washington on December 4-8, at the invitation of the United States Congress.
The President's program includes meetings with senators and congressmen, including co-chairs of the Friendship Group for Moldova, Pete Olson and David Price, meetings with other officials and some interviews for the US press.
Andrian Candu will take part in a speech at the Parliamentary Intelligence Security Forum, where he will discuss the risks and challenges of the region as well as the hybrid threats, including in the political context in Chisinau.
Also, the President of Parliament will participate in the launch of the Business Council Moldova - USA. The objective of this Council is to promote economic exchanges, support investors and support economic operators in the two countries.
The President's last visit to the US took place on June 25th. Then Andrian Candu and his counterparts from Georgia and Ukraine, backed by the Lithuanian speaker and the deputy speaker of the Polish Parliament, discussed with US officials the security risks generated by the unanswered presence of Russian troops in the area, hybrid war, human rights, energy security in Eastern Europe, as well as the reforms implemented and the European path of the three states.
