The impetus for Moldovan-Irish relations, including through the Embassy of the Republic of Moldova, to be opened in Dublin next year, was discussed at the meeting yesterday, December 6, in Milan, by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, Tudor Ulianovschi, with the State Minister of Ireland, Paul Kehoe. 

Minister Tudor Ulianovschi expressed his thanks to the Irish Government for opening up the political, commercial, economic and social dialogue with our country, stressing that with the establishment of the diplomatic mission of the Republic of Moldova at Dublin, the necessary premises will be created to fully exploit the potential of Moldovan-Irish cooperation.

"The presence of an important number of our diaspora in Ireland is proof of the attractiveness of the Irish economic culture and model for our citizens, and in this regard we want a sustainable partnership based on mutually beneficial projects for the welfare of our citizens", said Minister Tudor Ulianovschi, also welcoming the decision of the Irish Government to open an honorary consulate in Chisinau.

The Irish Minister of State has greatly appreciated the new perspectives that are being developed in order to boost the dialogue between the two countries, especially in the context of the celebration of the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the Moldovan-Irish diplomatic relations in 2019.In this respect, Minister Paul Kehoe has sent the head of Moldovan diplomacy the invitation to visit Dublin in the near future to have a series of meetings with senior Irish officials.
