Our country's cooperation in the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly, the promotion of confidence-building measures in the Transnistrian settlement process, the integration of national minorities, the reform of the judiciary and the consolidation of the rule of law, the 2019 parliamentary elections were the main topics of the Foreign Minister's European Integration, Tudor Ulianovschi, with the President of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly, George Tsereteli, held in the margins of the meeting of the Ministerial Council of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe at Milan.
During the meeting, Minister Tudor Ulianovschi appreciated the support of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly for efforts to regulate the Transnistrian conflict and the withdrawal of Russian troops and munitions from the territory of the Republic of Moldova, citing in particular the political statement adopted at the last meeting of this parliamentary forum.
The head of Moldovan diplomacy noted that in this way, the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly contributes to the consolidation of peace and security in this part of Europe.
In this context, the interlocutors noted the valuable contribution of OSCE lawmakers in promoting reforms aimed at consolidating democratic institutions in the OSCE area, including in the Republic of Moldova, by building the rule of law and the rule of law, respecting human rights and fundamental freedoms, ensuring freedom of the press, and conducting free and fair elections, etc.
