A former engineer of the former company, RED Union Fenosa, was sentenced to four years in prison for a violation of the rules governing the operation of electrical networks, resulting in the death of a person. 

The tragedy took place in autumn 2008 in Ceadir Lunga district. According to prosecutors, the convicted violated the security rules, which led to a man's electrocution.

The victim touched a cable hanging on a pillar.

After ten years of lawsuits, when the file reached five times at the Supreme Court of Justice, the Chisinau Court of Appeal convicted the chief engineer. He will also have to pay moral damages of 52,000 lei. The decision is final.
