The Сapital residents had the opportunity to walk around the Earth in a few hours, tasting delights from all corners of the world in one place. A charity fair was organized by the International Women's Club.
The event was attended by representatives from almost 30 diplomatic missions and organizations. The new US ambassador and his wife decided to come to the event with American products and more decorations for the winter holidays.
"We have brioches, biscuits and craftsmanship decorations." I loved the organizers of this event very much, I was impressed by the unity of these women. "
"We hope that all people in Moldova will have the opportunity to taste American food, but also learn more about our culture." The goal of this event, as you know, is to gather money for charity purposes, "said Dereck J. Hogan , the US ambassador to Chisinau.
The table of the Chinese Embassy was filled by toys and natural fabrics.
"We came with natural silk, pearls from China, but also specific toys in our country", said the wife of China's Ambassador to Chisinau.
"The diplomatic corps organized this fair to sell these products and raise money for children and other people in need of help", said Zhang Yanjun, China's ambassador to Chisinau.
Other embassies praised products specific to their countries.
"The" old Tallinn "drink is from medicinal herbs, it helps to treat the cold", said Simmu Tiik, the head of the diplomatic mission of Estonia in Chisinau.
"We have baclava, kebap, Dolma is our traditional, charcoal-like food, but we have our recipe", said Leila Orudjeva, adviser to the Azerbaijani Ambassador.
The Charity Fair organizers say they have this year to raise one million lei. The money will be donated to three non-governmental associations and the Mother and Child Institute.
"Over the past four to five years, we have collected more than three million lei and covered over 40 charitable projects, all in the Republic of Moldova", said Maria Marinuţa, the co-president of the International Women's Club of Moldova.
Visitors have enjoyed the food and have been offering gifts to their loved ones.
"There are many sick people, many sick children, that's why we're here to help them."
"Let's learn the culture of beauty and the children, see also that it is good to donate."
The International Charity Fair has been taking place in Moldova since 1997. Thousands of people have been helped during these years, including preterm babies.
