A new demographic trend can be noticed in Moldova, informs Sputnik.md.

In the past 27 years, Moldova faces depopulation, but we can't say the same about the past years.

This topic was discussed at Sputnik Moldova within the Sputnik.Knowledge project by Simson Izakson, the rabbi of the Jewish Community from Moldova.

He confirmed the information about the demographic trend when he said that the Jews are returning in Moldova. 

"Indeed, in the past years, we noticed an increase of the population. Moreover, a lot of Israeli students come to study medicine in Chisinau. Many Jews who left in Israel remembered they have relationship here and savings and started affairs that bring profit. Some of them even moved here."

Izakson says he meets Jews very often.

"Every time I am in the city, I meet many Jews. They are speaking Hebrew. Even the taxi drivers! This is a phenomenon. Many successful entrepreneurs who left in Israel or the USA came back", said the rabbi of the Jewish Community from Moldova.

"I see that many Jews are coming back in Moldova", highlighted Simpson Izakson.
