New facilities for policyholders: It can be paid online, via post-terminal or post office
The insurance policy can be paid online, through the post office or at the post offices, and the status of insured person will be granted and suspended under a new Regulation approved today by the Executive.
The document sets out the conditions for granting / suspending the status of insured person, as well as the criteria for prioritization in the case of assigning the natural person to several categories of insurance premium payers. According to the Regulation, the National Health Insurance Company (CNAM) will grant the insurance status to employed persons, to those insured by the Government and to the citizens who individually procure the compulsory health insurance policy. In the event of non-payment of the premium, penalties will be applied. At the same time, the status of insured person could be suspended.
At registration, the CNMM will assign to each person a compulsory insurance number, which will be entered in the Register of insured persons' records. In this way, on the basis of the number of the insurance, as well as of the state identification number (IDPN), the record of all natural persons will be recorded.
At the same time, the reporting procedure will be simplified by institutions authorized to keep records of state-insured persons. The information will be transmitted to the CNAM via electronic channels, on-line or through the interoperability platform. Also, uninsured individuals, who are required to be provided on an individual basis, will be more easily identified.
Insured person status can be checked by accessing the website www.cnam.md. Following the recently approved legislative amendments, insured persons are no longer required to submit the paper policy for healthcare.
