Quality and low-priced. More than 220 medical services will be cheaper by up to 70 percent
Over 220 medical services will be cheaper by up to 70 percent. The decision to reduce these tariffs was taken by the Government. According to the Minister of Health, Labor and Social Protection, Silvia Radu, the new provisions will allow patients to benefit from qualitative services at a lower price.
For example, according to the new tariffs, extraction of cataract will cost around 2,400 lei instead of 6,300 lei, as it has been so far. And making a photo recording of a macroscopic or histopathological preparation will cost 45 lei instead of 146.
According to Silvia Radu, the price decrease was possible due to the decrease of medical institutions' expenditure on the purchase of medicines and consumables.
"Some fees have been cut from 30 percent to 69 percent, and this has been made possible by the fact that measures have been taken to streamline the procurement process, so the medicines and components that cost the tariff have been reduced", said Silvia Radu.
The Executive's decision also sets tariffs for 135 new services, and another 200, which are long overdue, will be excluded. The document is to be published in the Official Gazette.
