Pavel Filip: Statements that some people get a lower salary than it was before are lies
Prime Minister Pavel Filip demands more responsibility from the state institutions in the implementation of the wage law, so that citizens can feel its positive effects.
The implementation of the law on pay, the deficiencies noted and the possibilities for their removal were examined today at a meeting chaired by Prime Minister Pavel Filip.
According to the Ministry of Finance, one month after the entry into force of the wage bill in the public sector, a large part of the budgets have raised their salaries, others will receive them during this week, and about 10% of the institutions will pay salaries on over the next week.
The prime minister said that the approval and implementation of this law was possible due to the increase in the state budget, which is the result of the Government's activity.
"The statements that some people get a lower salary than before are a lie. This law provides that no one will receive a lower salary than before. And if this happens, however, it is a mistake of the accountant and the salary must be recalculated", said the Prime Minister.
The Prime Minister appealed to all the subordinated institutions to show greater responsibility and mobilization.
"If there was more organization and mobilization, this week all budgets would receive their salaries. Unfortunately, because of the accountants and the heads of institutions, who preferred to rest rather than work, 10% of the public servants will raise their salary next week until the end of the month", said Pavel Filip.
According to the Prime Minister, after the first month of application of the wage law, there will be a perfect mechanism that will allow annual salary adjustments in order to increase them, depending on the level of inflation and the financial capacities of the state.
"This law is a very important one and it has worked very hard on its elaboration. The law comes to make order in the wage system, and if some questions arise, they should not overshadow this very good law. We will analyze the first salary and if we need to intervene, we'll intervene. So that we can retouch those shades that remain, and people feel the benefits of this law", said Pavel Filip.
The new salary law in the budgetary sector entered into force on December 1 2018.
