More and more Moldovans keep their money in banks. According to the National Bank of Moldova, at the end of December, the Moldovans put 41 billion lei in banks, which is 3% more than in the same period of the last year.

The sum of the deposits in December is one billion higher.

 

According to the statistics, the majority of the money are kept in the national currency. Thus, the Moldovans keep 23 billion lei in banks.

 

 

NBM data show that most money is kept in interest-bearing deposits. In lei, the sum is around 21 billion, and in the currency the equivalent of over 14 billion lei.

At the same time, over two billion lei are deposited without interest. Those who opted to keep their money in euros or dollars deposited in the banks the equivalent of 3.8 billion lei.
