Gymnasium from Donici village, Orhei district vandalized after Maia Sandu closed it
The gymnasium from Donici village, Orhei district has totally been destroyed after it was closed in 2014 because of Maia Sandu's reform.
January 9, 2014 was the last studying day for this institution.
Approximately 70 pupils have been transferred to the neighbor village, Camencea, that is three kilometers away. Elina Gradinaru remembers how her daughter was crying. She was in the third grade.
"It is very hard in this period of the year", said Elina Gradinaru, resident of Donici village.
The former teachers of the gymnasium remember when the halls of the gymnasium were filled with pupils. Ecaterina Silavoc was a history teacher and vice director of the gymnasium.
"I started to cry when I entered the gate of the school for the last time, I spend half of my life here", said Ecaterina Silacov, history teacher at Donici gymnasium.
The former director of the gymnasium says that they made many requests to the minister that was leaded by the leader of PAS party.
"Maia Sandu didn't react. They only told us that they don't have any money. Now, when I see her I can't even look at her. She closed many schools", said Ecaterina Ceban, the former director of the gymnasium.
The gymnasium has been vandalized, as nobody takes care of it.
"We haven't receive any money. Not even to pay a guardian. They even destroyed the doors of the sports hall", said Sergiu Guzun, the mayor of Donici village, Orhei district.
According to the statistics, between 2012 and 2015, when Maia Sandu was the Minister of Education, 130 educational institutions have been closed. In 2017, the Government stopped closing schools. Since then, some of the institutions were reopened.
