Bomb investigation: Maia Sandu benefited of political consulting from an expert with more than 60.000 USD by Veaceslav Platon
Maia Sandu, the leader of PAS benefited of political consultancy form an American expert paid by No.1 raider in CSI, Veaceslav Platon. This information was offered by zeppelin.md. It is about Noel Boxer, political consultant specialized in electoral campaigns. He was paid with 12 thousand USD monthly between July-November 2016, before the presidential elections. The sum of 60 thousand USD hasn't been declared by PAS.
The lobby and PR activity was intermediated by David Zaikin who was born in USSR, but he emigrated in Russia in 1990. According to zeppelin, he has a close relationship with certain influence groups and the special services of Russia.
Platon and Zaikin convened to leave the lobby activity in shadow and hide the real origin of the money. In the investigation it was mentioned about the first contact between Zaikin and Maia Sandu, that took place on July 17, 2016, when they held a meeting in Chisinau. In a couple of days, the lobbyist and Morris L.Reid, the employee of a private consultancy in affairs company arrived in Moldova. The costs of the trip were covered by Platon.
During the same period, Zaikin reported the No.1 raider in CSI the actions that he made and told him about his meeting with Maia Sandu. He wrote Platon that PAS leader messages him and desperately ask him for help.
Thus, the two of them convened to help Maia Sandu with the money that come from the Russian laundromat and Moldovan Laundromat. Also, Zaikin received the task to make Maia Sandu the only candidate of the right wing parties for the elections. After she wins the elections, she covers all the costs. The first cooperation of Maia Sandu and Zaikin is the well-known IMF letter, where Maia Sandu requests to stop funding Moldova.
"This was a plan of Zaikin and Platon, Maia Sandu just signed the letter, she wasn't conscious about that", noted the authors of the investigation. Then, at the request of the lobbyist, Platon made Igor Dodon who was the PSRM president by this time and Renato Usatii, the President of Our Party to support the demarche of Maia Sandu.
Zeppelin journalists also wrote that the laundered money wasn't found, but neither was the actions plan approved with Zaikin. In a short period, Ludmila Kozlovska, the President of Open Dialog foundation went to the lobbyist. She had the mission to double the efforts of Zaikin in the European institutions, as they were good paid by him. According to zeppelin, the PAS leader was a revenge tool against the Moldovan Government. Within a session that took place in Bucharest, Maia Sandu admitted that in 2016 she received consultancy advice.
"Before the presidential elections I receives some letters and I even had some meetings with the international advisers who offered their support. I told them we don't have money and some of they were in doubt and asked us why do we make politics if we don't have money", said Maia Sandu, PAS leader.
Veaceslav Platon gave them money. According to zeppelin investigation, David Zaikin lobbyist hired Noel Boxer as an adviser for the 2016 presidential elections. Platon not only funded his trips to Chisinau, but also paid him 12 thousand USD monthly.
The relationship between David Zaikin and Veaceslav Platon quit on June 25 in 2016, when the No.1 raider in CSI was detained by the Ukraine special services, at the requests of Moldovan prosecutors in Kiev. Last autumn, the Supreme Court of Justice sentenced Veaceslav Platon to 18 years behind bars for fraud and money laundering within Banca de Economii file.
