Parliament will provide all necessary information to OSCE/ODIHR Mission on 2019 Parliamentary elections
Andrian Candu, Parliament Speaker, had a meeting with the OSCE/ODIHR Election Observation Mission of the Republic of Moldova, headed by Mátyás Eorsi.
The discussions focused on the actions taken by the authorities to ensure a well-organized electoral process, in line with international standards. The President of the Parliament assured that efforts are being made to ensure that the elections are free, fair, transparent, reflect the will of citizens and be recognized at both national and international level. Andrian Candu said that Parliament's representatives are open to providing the necessary information for observer missions and responding to their questions.
"A free and fair electoral process will strengthen the trust of citizens in state institutions. We will wait for the final report of the OSCE observers mission and the recommendations made to take them into account in improving legislation", said the Parliament Speaker.
The election observation mission of the Office of the OSCE for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights began its activity in our country on January 16, 2019. This is the 14th election that the ODIHR mission monitors in Moldova. The core mission team consists of 11 experts and 28 long-term observers in addition, there will be about 200 short-term observers. Observers' conclusions and recommendations will be found in the election monitoring reports.
