What risks a recidivist for stealing from a house
A 35 years old man, tried previously for various crimes, detained for theft in an apartment in the Riscani district of Chisinau.
According to the police, the suspect entered the house by forcing the glass, while the owners were not home, from where he took two Samsung Galaxy S7 and Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 mobile phones, causing a loss of 12,500 lei.
The police officers proved guilty of the offender, so he risks to stay in jail for up to 4 years or a fine in the amount from 32,500 lei to 67,500 lei.
In this context, the Police of Capital asks for and recommends the following safety measures:
-If you leave your home until your neighbor or you lack for a short time - do not leave the door unlocked;
-Make sure the main door of the house is locked overnight;
- Be careful not to steal your keys or lose them in any circumstances. If you still are happened - change the door lock immediately;
-Give your children to react promptly in situations when someone unknown tries to convince them that they are friends or co-workers with you and they came after the keys of the house or the goods in the house;
- Mount a safety chain on the inside of the door to limit the opening when unlocking a person you do not know;
Do not believe people trying to sell you goods (dishes, detergents, jewelry, etc.). They can distract you from stealing;
-For the owners of the apartments located on the ground floor, it is advisable not to leave the glass in the open bathroom at night. Install the grid or alarm system on the windows that are exposed to the danger of escalation;
-If you go out on a vacation or a weekend, ask a knowledgeable or trusted neighbor to supervise your home. Leave him a phone number where he can call you in case of some bad situations.
