The Democratic Party of Moldova maintains its tendency to grow in electorate preferences. If parliamentary elections were held next Sunday, DPM would accumulate more votes than the block created by the PAS-PPDA binomial. They are the conclusions of a new survey conducted by the Association of Sociologists and Demographers of the Republic of Moldova.
According to the poll, two parties and an electoral bloc would accede to the next legislature. This is PSRM, DPM and the block created by the PAS - PPDA formations. Most votes, 49.2%, would get the Party of Socialists. PSRM registered a slight increase in voters' preferences, compared with the previous poll conducted in early December last year, when it was credited with 48.4 percent of the vote. From the summer of 2018 to the present, the number of PSRM voters has fallen.
The second place is the Democratic Party of Moldova, which gains the sympathy of more and more voters. The poll "Vox Populi" shows that for the party led by Vlad Plahotniuc are ready to vote now over 19 percent of Moldovan people, 1.4 percent points more than last month. From July 2018 to the present, the number of those who would vote for DPM increased by almost 6 percentage points.
On the other hand, the "NOW" bloc consisting of the Action and Solidarity Party and the Platform for Dignity and Truth lost 3.1 percent of votes against last December. Now, for the Sandu-Năstase binomial, they are ready to vote for 19.1 percent of the elected voters, compared with 22.2% last month. Separately, each of the PAS and PPDA formations would accumulate fewer votes, according to polls last summer and autumn.
The research also shows that the Shroud Party, for which 4.4% of voters would vote, is below the 6% electoral threshold. The Communists are credited with 3.5% of the votes. Both formations registered a slight increase in voters' preferences.
The "Vox Populi" poll was conducted by the Association of Sociologists and Demographers of the Republic of Moldova from 4 to 19 January on a sample of approximately 1200 people. The margin of error is plus minus three percent.
