Liberal party asked socialists to leave the elections race. What actually happened
The Liberal party requests the Socialists to withdraw from the election race. Such a request was made today at the Central Election Commission. The liberals invoke the fact that this party is supported by the informal leader of PSRM, President Igor Dodon, although he said he won't participate in the parliamentary elections.
Dorin Chirtoaca, the leader of the democrats declared that the socialist party involved the presidential institution in the election process.
At the same time, Chirtoaca accused the president of the country that his visits to Moscow and his meetings with Vladimir Putin involved the Kremlin leader in the election campaign from our country. Moreover, Chirtoaca said that Dodon benefited of Russia's financial support when they provided him a GazpromAvia airplane.
"What happens? Why are we letting Putin to get involved in our interior affairs. How much does a ticket to Moscow cost with such an airplane? Tens of thousands of Euros, or about 50 thousand Euro. PSRM should have said that you are nor party member. You should be equidistant", declared Dorin Chirtoaca, PL president.
Dorin Chirtoaca liberal said that even if Igor Dodon doesn't run for the February 24 elections, he broke No.41 article of the Election Code.
"No.41 article of the constitution forbids a party to be funded by a foreign company", said Dorin Chirtoaca.
The socialists rejected the accusations and said that Igor Dodon's visits to Moscow brought many benefits.
"Dorin Chirtoaca should be imprisoned. He refers to the things that don't make any sense", declared Ion Ceban, PSRM candidate.
According to the legislation, CEC has five days to examine PL's request.
