A Moldavian gave birth in a Russian prison after believing the so-called amnesty that would have been agreed between Igor Dodon and Vladimir Putin. She took advantage of this amnesty, left Russia, and when she came back it was mentioned that her ban was not canceled and detained.
Moldovan Diaspora Congress Chairman, Alexandr Kalinin talked about this case in an interview for the open.md web site.
"She was detained on the territory of the Russian Federation and jailed her in prison. What Dodon does, leads to complicated situations, while our president, who has to think of his citizens, could not even help a new born citizen of the Republic of Moldova, and ruined his entire life because this child came to prison in the world. It is a stain for life", said Alexandr Kalinin, president of the Congress of the Moldovan Diaspora, Russia.
According to Kalinin, the woman risks up to four years in jail for illegal border crossing. He also said that the authorities in Russia, responsible for the application of the so-called amnesty, are not always officially notified. And that's because the measure is only at the level of verbal agreements between Putin and Dodon. Such a case also happened in March 2018, when four Moldovans were detained after they believed the head of the state, who announced the so-called amnesty on social networks. Kalinin claims that he then told Igor Dodon about the situation, but the country's president replied that he had no time and close his phone to his nose.
The president of the Congress of the Moldovan Diaspora in Russia says that he had to inform Moldovan citizens that Dodon's decrees are valid only in Moldova and that in Russia they are not functioning because there is no official statement from the Moscow authorities.
Asked by our TV channel, Carmena Lupei, head consultant of the presidential press service, said that the head of state does not comment on the statements made by Alexandr Kalinin.
