A lawyer from the Capital was detained by NAC officers and prosecutors, being suspected of influence traffic. He asked 28,000 euros from a convict to release him from detention ahead of schedule.
According to the denouncer, the lawyer claimed that he has influence on the administration of the jails, but also on some magistrates, and that he could influence them to make a favorable decision on the detainee (convicted of kidnapping and murder).
According to the case law, the lawyer acted in complicity with his father, who at the time was a senior executive in the national penitentiary administration, was a prosecutor and a lawyer. Together, they demanded from the detained money in a few installments, amounting to 28,000 euros.
These days, the lawyer also requested 1,500 euros for the final settlement of the problem - a sum sent under the control of the NAC. The lawyer was detained for 72 hours when he received the money from an intermediary.
