More farmers want certify their products with European Global GAP and GRASP standards.

They provide access to any market in the world at higher prices by 10-15 percent. Farmers visited the farmhouse of the first Moldovan entrepreneur who obtained GRASP certification.

Ion Tulei has obtained international certification for large part of his products as condition to export to strict market. 

"We exported to Oman, Dubai, Bangladesh, Israel and certainly Russia, "said Ion Tulei, a farmer in Olanesti village, Ştefan-Vodă district.

Zinaida Plămădeala from Călăraşi has 40 hectares cultivated with strawberries. She wants to acquire international standard so as to export her products. 

"Global GAP is one certificates to enable us to enter European market", said Zinaida Plămădeală, farmer from Călăraşi.

Global GAP and GRASP certification provides for alignment with 218 international requirements.

"The first standard refers to occupational safety requirements, agricultural land, internal inspection over a certain period of time, use of irrigation water, use of plant protection products, fertilizers, and hygiene of production, harvesting requirements, infrastructure", said Andrei Cumpanici, specialist in food safety.

So far, 30 farmers have obtained the Global GAP certificate and two producers, the GRASP. Our country is the only one in the CIS countries to have GRASP certified producers.
