First Lego League. Over 500 children participated at lego competition
The greatest robots competition gathered over 500 children from the whole country. The participants competed on intelligence and originality to build the most sophisticated robot that will explore the space.
Lego impersonators say it's complicated because competition is on the way, and requirements - not at all easy. The winner will be elected in March and will represent our country at the FIRST LEGO League 2019.
The most important test in the contest is the robot mission. Over two and a half minutes, the robots have to carry out as much autonomy as possible on the game table, simulating real-life problems and situations.
Nicolae Munteanu is 12 years old and has come to the competition with several classmates.
"This is the most complicated robot attachment I've ever made, and it is scheduled to perform four missions." I attended this competition for the second time, I participated last year, and I'm glad I did that, because in this I have more experience, "said the participant of the" Prometeu-Prim" team, Nicolae Munteanu.
Future engineers say that robotics for them is more than a passion.
"It's really cool, it's really cool, you have new experiences, you learn a lot."
"You can see the algae that we grow in comos. It will be based on centripetal force, there will be some tones that will spin and there will grow algae."
Among the participants was a team of girls.
"It's unusual to be a girls-only team, but we want to show everyone that the girls are no less capable in this area. We're in for the third time, and we will not be bothered until we get what we want."
Organizers say they were amazed at the skill the participants showed.
"The purpose of the robotics program is to promote interest in children in the fields of science, technology, engineering, because knowledge in this field will also be in greater demand", said organizer Ionela Titirez.
FIRST LEGO League is the world's largest international technology and robotics competition. The contest is at the fifth edition in our country. In our country there are about 5,000 children studying robotics.
