CEC urges citizens to verify the correctness of main electoral list before voting
One week before the parliamentary elections that will take place on February 24, CEC urges the citizens to verify the main election lists before voting.
People can do it at the voting polls or on cec.md.
"It is important to check the accuracy of the main electoral list, first of all to know where we need to vote. It is important that the number of voters officially announced on February 24th because they can still be some corrections or changes to the basic electoral list", CEC president Alina Russu said.
To vote in the constituency where they have their residence, the voters must present themselves on the day of the elections to the polling station to which they are assigned. Otherwise, the citizens will be able to vote only in three ballots: for the candidates for the post of deputy in the national constituency and for the two questions submitted to the Republican consultative referendum.
"If they can not go to the polling station, they may ask for the certificate with the right to vote by February 23. And here, the attention of the citizens, because if they will be able to go to another polling station, but who is located within the uninominal district where the citizen is assigned, then the citizen will apply for two certificates", CEC president Alina Russu said.
People need to have their identity card. February 24th parliamentary elections will be held for the first time on the basis of the mixed voting system. That means 50 deputies will be elected on party lists and 51 in constituencies.
At the same time, in the consensus referendum, people will be asked if they agree to reduce the number of MEPs from 101 to 61 and the possibility of dismissing people who do not fulfill their commitments.
