The Economy minister negotiates the export quotas in the EU for plums and grapes for the second year in a row. 

In 2018, our country exported over 80 thousand tones of grapes and 14 tones of plums. The big quantities of the last year revealed the weak developed infrastructure. 

"By improving the infrastructure, we can export our products on other markets", said Vitalie Goroncioi, the president of the Fruits Association.

Ion Ionas from Costesti village, Ialoveni district exported approximately one thousand tones of plums the last year.

"We were thinking to make a refrigerating storage, so we can keep the plums for a longer period", said Ion Ionas.

Diana Vlasiuc from Anenii Noi district has a 180 hectares vineyard. He also has plums there. The entrepreneur says that she invested in a refrigerator and a dryer.

Iurie Usurelu, the general state secretary of the Agriculture Ministry pointed our that the market should be a priority for the farmer.

"The fruits should look good and then these will be exported on any market", said Iurie Usurelu.

The Association of Fruits Producers and Exporters from the country has over 170 members. Only 50% of them have the required storage conditions.
