Democratic Party of Moldova candidate Sergiu Sirbu had a first intervention today at the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly on the situation in the Transnistrian region.
In recent years, the Moldovan authorities have focused on solving the daily problems faced by the population in the conflict zone, especially in terms of the right to education, property or freedom of movement.
"We believe that these confidence-building measures contribute to the proximity between the two banks of the Dniester and to the creation of a favorable atmosphere for the negotiation process. However, the final settlement of the conflict will only occur when the Russian Federation finally withdraws its troops military and ammunition on the territory of our country", said Sergiu Sirbu in his speech.
