9000 packs of cigarettes have been seized yesterday at Chisinau International Airport.

The tobacco products should have been transported by a Turkish citizen to Istanbul.

The man was fined with 3 250 lei and the cigarettes have been seized.

This is the second case of this kind in the past two weeks.

PUBLIKA.MD reminds that last Sunday, over 6000 tobacco products were found in the luggage of a passenger on the same route.

Another attempt of illegal cigarettes transportation was found in Cahul. 8000 cigarettes have been revealed in a parcel. 

In this case, the cigarettes have been seized, while the man risks a fine between 3000 and 4500 lei.
