Gheorghe Petic will be sentenced on March 5
Four years of jail and two fines totaling almost 100,000 lei for the damage caused to the state. That's what the prosecutors asked for the former border police officer, Gheorghe Petic, as the defendant's lawyer Angela Istrate says. The petition will take its final say on March 5, when Orhei magistrates will also pronounce the sentence.
The case prosecutor did not answer the phone to confirm our information and give us details. Gheorghe Petic is criminally investigated for aggression and violation of a woman in Ungheni.
He was surprised by a surveillance camera while entering the victim's house, and on his clothes were found biological samples belonging to the woman. However, Petic is innocent.
Although he has been in custody for more than 5 months, he has run for parliamentary elections in the 33-nation PAS-PPDA binomial, hoping he will receive immunity.
According to the preliminary results of the Central Electoral Commission, the ACUM block could have only 26 seats in the future Parliament, so Petic will not escape criminal liability.
