Information and Security Service commemorates heroes of the independence of Republic of Moldova
On March 1, 2010, within the Information and Security Service, the ceremony commemorated the 27th anniversary of the beginning of the fighting for the defense of the territorial integrity and the independence of the Republic of Moldova.
The solemn festivity, traditionally, took place in the square of the institution, at the monument inaugurated in honor of the heroes of the state security organs, fallen in the armed conflict on the Dniester. The leadership of the Information and Security Service, combatants and veterans of state security organs, relatives of heroes who fell on duty, as well as guests of honor.
In the ceremony were expressed feelings of recognition and praise of patriotism, courage and self-giving of combatants who defended supreme values and national ideals.
In his address, Vasile Botnari, director of the SIS, noted that a people became immortal through the hero's cult, which is why the Day of Remembrance has special significance and should not be forgotten, as the sacrifice of all people have struggled for the Republic of Moldova to have the opportunity to live its present and stand alone to create its future.
He mentioned that the veterans and combatants of the conflict on the Dniester are a generation of victors, promoters of authentic patriotism, and remain the example of firmness, devotion to which we can report and from which we can learn.
In the solemnity, the Guard of the Security and Intelligence Service made three firepipes and presented the military honor, followed a moment of silence and flowers were deposited at the monument of the heroes of the state security organs, fallen in the armed conflict on the Dniester.
