Citizens' access to free medicines will increase
The Government increases the access of the citizens for medicines.
Citizens' access to compensated medicines will increase. The Government approved a draft law providing for the right to prescribe compensated medicines and specialists, including from private medical institutions. Until now, compensated drugs have only been prescribed by doctors in public medical institutions.
The project establishes a contract model to be signed between private medical institutions and the National Health Insurance Company.
Thus, citizens will be able to receive compensated medicines by addressing specialized doctors: neurologists, psychiatrists, endocrinologists and pediatricians from private healthcare providers.
Over the past three years, the Government has succeeded in doubling the list of compensated medicines to 148 common international names, and has ensured, since February 1, that free of charge for patients of 1-2 drugs from each international common name this list.
