It is for the first time in the history of our country when the legislatures will be counted starting 1990, the year our country gained its independence.

The new counting system was established through the Constitutional Court's Decision and will be applied starting this Parliament.

Thus, the Parliament that was chosen on February 24 will the the 10th legislature. We mention that the previous counting started in the Soviet period.

Starting 2017, the Republic of Moldova's Parliament established that the Parliament's Day will take place in May.

On May 23 1991 the name of RSSM was changed into the Republic of Moldova and the Supreme Soviet was named Parliament.
