60 tons of fruit, sold in the center of Capital
60 tons of grapes and apples were sold in just a few hours in the center of Chisinau. The Moldovan people are solidary with the producers who have remained in the refrigerators and have extended a helping hand. The winners were all: people bought grapes with 5 lei kilogram, and farmers sold everything they brought.
At the fair, there were 16 farmers from all corners of the country who brought about 57 tons of grapes, but also three tons of apples.
"Basically, the refrigerator is full, we have no place to sell, but again, we do not have buyers. 50 lei is not expensive, 50 lei is like a pretty good price."
"We have 40 tons, we come with a lot of oil that we are not convinced that we will give it all. Generally, we exported, midfielders came and bought, but this year we stayed, we waited, I kept it. I don not know what to do."
"Now I'm retired and I work with my husband 2 ha a half From 2 ha a half 10 tons of poem, I did not sell a kilogram I gave 5 tons with a lion and now, here is a 50 lei box If we cover spending on how I kept it in the fridge would be fine."
The event was organized at the initiative of a producer who arrived in the spring with the grape-fridge. Diana Crudu said she is proud of helping her colleagues.
"It is impressive the people who have made their presence today and have solidarized, empathized with us, understood the importance of today's event, and then our thanks go to them and foreign citizens who have no common interest promoted the event, people who have dedicated themselves one hundred percent to the event", said organizer Diana Crudu.
Thus, during the first half of the day in the center of the Capital could be seen all the people with grapes.
"I was at the church and I saw that the grapes are cheap, so I bought."
"Who will feed us further if they will not be supported by us, by the people? That is the situation. to make the land again and to accomplish everything".
This man has a restaurant in the Capital. He bought some crates of grapes and shared it with the customers.
"We have called on all colleagues in our guild to come to support, to serve customers in restaurants with these beautiful grapes today, these beautiful apples", said the owner of a restaurant from the Capital, Alexandru Andronic.
Authorities say such events could be organized, especially as producers still have refrigerated fruit.
"We have already discussed with some of them, would like to do next Sunday, and we also talked about doing it in sectors, not just here, in the Home Center, whether it is more convenient for people who want to buy, not to be away from home", said interim mayor of Chisinau, Ruslan Codreanu.
Last year, the grape harvest was the richest of the last ten years. According to a report of the Office of Wine and Wine, on average, at one hectare, 5.3 tonnes of grapes were collected.
