A two year old and six month old arrived in the hospital after swallowing a lion's coin.

The girl was transported to the Mother and Child Institute, where doctors from the endoscopy section successfully extracted the coin. According to a press release of the institution, there are doctors Victor Rascov (endoscopist), Semeniuc Alexandra (nurse) and Glijinschi Anastasia (anesthetist). 

Soon the little patient was discharged.

The situation is not unprecedented. According to the medical center data, 16 interventions of extracting foreign bodies from the upper gastrointestinal tract have been performed since the beginning of this year, of which 7 were cases of swallowing some coins.

Specialists of the Mother and Child Institute recommend parents to follow some basic rules to prevent children from ingesting or swallowing objects: 
- Do not bring chemicals into containers that are attractive to the child and do not put them in easily accessible places; 
- Avoid giving or bringing small children into small children for at least 3 years; 
- Be careful and keep an eye on it.

Publika.md informs that at the Mother and Child Center there is a museum where objects from human bodies are exposed.

Coins, buttons, batteries, and screws - are just some of the objects swallowed by children, which for forty years have been collected by Endoscopy Section doctors.
