In 2018 tourism agencies and tour operators have provided tourist services to 19.3 thousand foreign tourists, ten percent more than in the previous year.

According to the National Bureau of Statistics, most foreigners - 82.1 percent - have arrived in the Republic of Moldova for recreation and leisure purposes, 14.8% for business and professional and 3% for treatment.

Most foreign tourists arriving in the Republic of Moldova are from Romania (19%), the Russian Federation (9%), Austria (8%), Germany (8%), Ukraine (8%), Poland 3%). At the same time, there is an increase in the number of foreign citizens interested in Moldova from Italy, the Netherlands, Japan, Finland and Turkey.
