Moldovan-American Forum. What Moldovans want to sell over an ocean
Bread, pieces of furniture, industrial hemp and hemp oil are just some of the products that Moldovan people want to sell over the ocean.
Several businessmen from us came to a meeting with representatives of some US companies at the Moldovan-American forum held in Chisinau.
Ion Rata and his business partner export to the United States hemp oil extraction equipment. Now he wants to find potential US importers for hemp plants.
"It has quite valuable seeds. Oils are highly demanded on the international market, we want to go along with the export", said an entrepreneur Ion Rata.
Andrei Domin's company deals with metal processing and furniture manufacturing. The man wants the objects he produces to reach the American market.
"So far, we have only sold in Moldova, but we have intermediaries who sell our products abroad. We do the pieces, they assemble them and sell them in Europe", said Andrei Domin, director of a metal processing company.
Olesea Globa wants to conquer the United States with bread from Orhei.
Bread, 100% natural, without yeast, we have the recipe from our parents, the flour is made at the stone mill, which is no longer commercially available, is a health-enhancing product for those who have a healthy lifestyle, what practically everybody now wants and looks for", said Olesea Globa, an entrepreneur.
American businessmen admit that the supply of organic products in Moldova is more varied than in the United States.
"It is an opportunity for Moldovan companies and economic agents to develop and expand. Why not, your products are very tasty, qualitative, I can even recommend them", said Maria Beghloyan, an American company representative.
Economy Minister Chiril Gaburici is convinced that the Moldovan-American forum will have positive results.
"We have more products that can get there, we are talking about the agro-food products that are certainly on the US market, and how we work here, we show them our products, we hope to get some good contracts out of these discussions", said Chiril Gaburici, Minister of Economy.
Most of the representatives of the 16 companies coming to the forum are interested in investment opportunities.
"Moldova can be a step in expanding the activity of these companies that are constantly looking for qualified and young human resources. We look like any investor from the legislative framework to political security, just for the safe of our investment", said Sorin Preda, the representative of an American company.
