Ministry of Economy and Infrastructure urges travelers to use only legal services of transport companies
Referring to the fight against illegal transport, Secretary of State Serghei Bucataru proposed that INP and ANTA inspectors carry out patrol actions in the Autogara area in order to identify and sanction illicit carriers but also to allow the stationing and parking of the transport units within the range of road signs that create difficulties in road traffic as well as obstacles to public transport activity.
"Even if the road signs indicate that parking in the area is forbidden, drivers ignore these signals and continue to park in an arbitrary manner. It is important to have a mobile station set up by ANTA and INP colleagues to combat both the presence of illicit taxi drivers and unlawfully parked units. Thus, we will be able to improve the quality of transport services as well as to streamline the road transport in this area", said Serghei Bucataru.
In this context, INP agents and ANTA inspectors will carry out patrol and verification actions within the Autogas and Central Market area starting tomorrow.
The Ministry of Economy and Infrastructure urges travelers to opt for the services of transport companies providing services under the legal framework. Thus, they will directly contribute to combating the phenomenon of illicit activity in passenger car transport that affects the safety of passengers and increases unfair competition.
Also, during the Easter holidays, when passenger traffic is higher than on ordinary days, a special working group consisting of INP, Fiscal Service, ANTA will be set up to monitor and strive to reduce illicit transport around the Central Bus and other key locations.
