20 years ago, Moldova and North Carolina signed a cooperation memorandum. Due to this document, hundreds of Moldovan experts benefited of exchange programs in education, security, defense and human assistance.

This year's anniversary includes a big program of activities, inclusively the session of the bilateral cooperation committee, where the official delegations of North Carolina will participate.  This will take place in Chisinau between May 15 and 17 2019.

In the 20 years of cooperation, many projects were implemented in Moldova due to this cooperation. Many successful projects were implemented for Nicolae Testimitanu State Medicine University in partnership with Greensboro and Chapel Hill universities from North Carolina.

Also, among the projects we can count the renovation of educational institutions, scholarships for poor pupils, but also assistance for doctors. Another field of the partnership is the cooperation between the defense ministry of Moldova and the North Carolina National Guard.
