Moldovan parliament elections on February 24 were free and fair because of being recognized by EU, the former President of Romania Traian Băsescu said on a TV show.
"Macro-financial assistance agreement for Moldova could be decided after parliament elections given the elections were held according to international standards. Romania also support the elections", said Traian Băsescu.
Despite of being interrupted by the show host Natalia Morari, the Romanian official continued his speech.
"There is a OSCE official report which stated that the elections were fair and free", added Mr Băsescu.
That report was presented two days after the February elections which pointed out that the parliament elections were carried out in accordance to international rules.
