Two thousand long-range anti-hail missiles arrived in Moldova. The new batch was imported from the Russia and today it will be distributed to the 132 launch points in the country. Minister of Agriculture, Nicolae Ciubuc, claims that the purchase was necessary to protect crops at risk due to hailstorms that are increasingly common.
The missiles were taken by air and transported to the special unit in Corneşti, Ungheni district.
"This batch, first of all, is being tested, then, for this game, it was noted that these rockets are good, qualitative and then we give them to all the points in the territory. It's enough", said the commander the special unit, Corneşti, Vasile, Vasile Nichiforeac.
"There are some of the best rocket influences, long-range rockets that work up to 12 km depending on the launch angle and we can work with the clouds near the point and the clouds in the distance", said the engineer, the special unit , Cornesti, Artut Moraru.
The first anti-hail missiles will reach the special units in Edinet, Falesti and Soroca.
"We need to protect the 2700 hectares of orchard, arable land. We had anti-Hungarian bullet missiles, but in any case the Bulgarians have to work in parallel with the Russian ones," said Ion Oboroc, engineer, special unit Edinet.
The missiles were brought in the presence of Minister Nicolae Ciubuc.
In May, over 3600 anti-hail missiles were launched across the country.
"It is a functional system in the Republic of Moldova, which provides more than 60% of the total area of coverage against hailstones, which ensures greater efficiency. This batch comes to replace the existing quantity for the following periods," said Agriculture Minister Nicolae Ciubuc .
For the procurement of the two thousand projectiles, 12 million lei were disbursed, money allocated from the state budget. Soon, the authorities will also get 2500 small missiles from Bulgaria. In total, for this year, the Government has allocated 40 million lei for this purpose.
