Even though the citizens voted on February 24 referendum to reduce the number of deputies to 61, the alliance leading Moldova refuse to implement this reform. The President of the Parliament didn't even announce the voting for changing the Constitution.

"We advise creating a working group that would change the constitution, because 800 thousand citizens voted for this initiative on February 24", said Sergiu Sirbu, DPM deputy.

Against the procedure, Zinaida Greceanii, the president of the Parliament didn't even expose this subject for the voting.

On February 24, the citizens attended a referendum and voted to reduce the number of MPs from 101 to 61. Among 745 thousand citizens, only 266 thousands were against.
