Liberal President Chirtoacă rebuked Finance Minister over tax modification
"It's brain of chicken, not of government" is the comment by Liberal President Dorin Chirtoacă over Government actions not to consult experts before deciding fiscal measures which they ready apply with IMF agreement.
"This points to the lack of capacity to administer the state issue", added Dorin Chirtoacă.
Moreover, Chirtoacă requested Finance Minister Natalia Gavriliţa to withdraw initiatives and reduce VAT for HoReCa industry.
"It must be 5%, not 10% or 20%", suggested Chirtoacă.
Chirtoacă also accused the Government of disrespecting European Union directive.
On a Facebook post, Economics expert Roman Chircă wrote that value-added taxes for hotel, restaurant, cafe are charged differently on many EU countries. Accordingly, the smallest tax is charged in Luxembourg - 3%, Netherlands - 6%. Poland - 8%, Portugal - Spain - France - Italy - 10%.
The former Government Filip decided to reduce VAT from 20 till 10% last year.
