People working in the HoReCa industry have launched an online petition to request the annulment of authority initiative to raise VAT to 20%. 

According to the petition, the gastronomic sector no longer becomes competitive in the European market once the new measure is carried out. 

They mentioned VAT in Romania 5%, four times lower than the new initiative. 

Moreover, they argued that a 10% VAT would allow salary raise and permit a full social package. 

Besides, this tax increase will affect the final price of products that their clients have to pay.
