Maia Sandu considers that the Judges' Assembly was illegally organized
Maia Sandu considers that the Judges' Assembly was illegally organized. The prime minister mentions that only the judges have to decide who are the Supreme Court of Magistrates (CSM) members delegated by them.
'The so-called general meeting of the judges today took place with the flagrant violation of the procedure, took place in the absence of the quorum stipulated by law and by ignoring the legal grounds for withdrawal of the mandate of the CSM members. As a result, all the so-called decisions did not have legal effects and cannot be taken seriously.
I strongly believe that only the judges have to decide who are the CSM members delegated by them. But it is inadmissible for this to happen by the flagrant circumvention of the legal provisions. What happened today shows once again that self-cleaning of the judicial system is impossible.
That is why we will move forward firmly with regard to the reform of the Supreme Court of Justice and the judiciary as a whole, including through the external evaluation of judges', the PM Maia Sandu wrote on Facebook.
