Russia's Novaport remains interested in investing in Chisinau International Airport
Russia's Novaport Holding co-owner Roman Trotsenko said the company remains interested in investing in Chisinau International Airport. The company only waits for the contest announced by Sandu government, interfax.ru writes.
"We're interested. They need to decide between keeping the old concession or announcing a new contest. We will join if they announce the contest", said Roman Trotsenko.
Novaport Holding is a Russian transport company which operates regional airports, and holds interests in the operation of several other airports.
Novaport Holding is 50%-owned by Russian billionaire Roman Trotsenko, the former advisor to the head of Rosneft. Novaport is a subsidiary of Roman Trotsenko's AEON Corporation, who is also the president of Russia's state-run United Shipbuilding Corporation.
Previously President Igor Dodon said in an interview for Russian press that the Chisinau Airport and Giurgiulești Port would be likely to belong to the Russian investors.
According to the head of state, Chisinau authorities are ready to have discussions with all investors from both East and West, suggesting that businessmen in the Russian Federation, however, would be more attractive to Chisinau.
