International Monetary Fund mission to visit Moldova
A mission of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) led by Ruben Atoyan will be visiting Chisinau between January 22 and February 5, 2020.
During the visit, the mission will hold discussions with the authorities in the context of the preparation for the periodic consultations provided by Article IV of the IMF Statute for 2020 and the sixth final evaluation of the Program supported by the IMF through ECF (Extended Credit Facility) and EFF (extended fund facility).
The mission will analyze the recent developments in the economy and the progress made in implementing the authorities program, will update the data and evaluate the perspectives at the macroeconomic level, as well as discuss with the authorities about the medium-term challenges, the risks facing the economy of the Republic of Moldova and the necessary policies to deal with them.
PUBLIKA.MD recalls that the last working visit of the IMF experts in Chisinau took place on October 2-8, 2019. During the visit, the IMF experts initiated discussions on the budget for 2020, regarding the priorities of the policies and financing. They discussed the reforms aimed at contributing to the implementation of the fiscal policy package for this year.
