Moldovan Wine registers the highest exports since 2014
In 2019, both the volume of Moldovan wine exports and their value were at the highest level recorded in five years. The leading figures were reached due to the constant efforts of the wine producers, with the support of the National Office of Wine and Wine (ONVV), an institution that contributes to the regulation and development of the field.
Moldova exported last year 156,674 million liters of wine, up 9% (or 12,607 million liters) compared to 2018. Still wines accounted for 94%, divines and distillates - 3%, fortified wines - 2%, and sparkling wines - 1%.
Moldova exported wine to 67 countries, reaching 3,086 million lei, by 9.2% (or 0.26 million) more than in 2018.
In 2019, the volume of wines on the markets of the European and Asian continent registered a constant increase.
Throughout 2019, Romania continues to be a strategic market and is at the top of the list of countries importing Moldovan Wine, both by volume of exports and by revenue generated.
