A number of Moldovan people still discriminate against LGBT community people, according to the survey conducted in November-December 2019 by a non-governmental organization, which promotes the rights of the LGBT community. The study was conducted on a sample of 815 people from Chisinau and has a margin of error of 3%.

Genderdoc-m data show that over 50 percent of respondents disapprove of sexual minorities. More than a third have a neutral attitude. Only seven percent of Moldovans accept sexual minorities.

More than 30 percent of respondents say they feel disgusted when they see two people of the same sex who are together or kissing on the street.

Another 22 percent are indifferent. 20% of the respondents consider them to be abnormal.

Asked what they think about the legalization of gay marriage, 65 percent said they were against it. Only five percent of respondents say that LGBT people should have the same rights and that marriages should be legalized.
