Moldovan Government ensures food supplies and calls for calm as coronavirus prompts panic
In the context of the latest evolution of the economic and social situation at national and international level, the Ministry of Agriculture, Regional Development and the Environment presents information regarding the national capacities for ensuring food security in Moldova.
In Moldova, dairy processing companies have currently in stock about 140 tons of butter, 189 tons of cheese and 500 tons of pasteurized wheat.
The meat processing companies have 860 tonnes of beef and pork raw material in stock, as well as 242 tonnes of finished meat products available for sale.
The meat stocks per day are 4500 tons. One million eggs are produced daily.
Food imports are carried out in the ordinary way, without any restrictions.
The ministry announces that Moldova can guarantee all food supplies and calls on the people to keep calm, avoid speculation and misinformation.
