Government is ready to allocate another 100 million lei for farmers' compensation
The government is ready to allocate another 100 million lei for the compensations of the farmers who suffered due to the drought.
Thus, the budget will be able to increase up to 300 million lei, which will allow the distribution of 1500 lei per hectare for the first group crops. The statement was made by Prime Minister Ion Chicu, during a briefing after the meeting of Government and Parliament representatives with farmers.
The prime minister presented a set of solutions for farmers including the establishment of a moratorium on fiscal controls by 31 December, a decision to be approved by Parliament
A draft simplification of procedures for the allocation of compensation has also been developed and is to be approved by the Government on Wednesday.
"When we reach an agreement on these measures, we can discuss the additional 200 million lei that the state has reimbursed from other items of expenditure. We add another 100 million. The protesters' representatives do not agree with 1500 lei, which means that our negotiations on Saturday are in suspense, the state cannot allocate more than those 1500 ", Ion Chicu declared.
Another solution for farmers would be to identify a new formula for rescheduling loans.
"We will also go with an amendment that would allow the Chamber of Commerce and Industry to issue force majeure certificates, which would allow the formalization of relations between agricultural economic agents and their suppliers. We rely on a constructive approach,"the prime minister said.
The final decisions on the proposed projects are to be taken by the Government and Parliament.
