Moldovan farmers affected by drought and hail could receive money from the Russian Federation. The Cabinet of Ministers approved the signing of the Agreement with Russia, which provides for the provision of non-reimbursable assistance in the amount of 275 million Russian rubles.
"It is necessary to approve this agreement so that the Russian side can disburse the approximately three million euros. I want to thank our Russian partners for accepting our address. We understand that it is a first tranche of this support ", declared PM Ion Chicu.
The Russian side is to transfer the financial means provided for in the agreement within 5 days from the date of signing the Agreement. In total, the Russian Federation has pledged to provide Moldova with aid of 500 million rubles or almost 108 million lei for farmers who have suffered from severe drought.
